Uniform Resource Locator

URL is the short form of Uniform Resource Locator. It is the Global address of documents and other resource on the Internet.

The protocol identifier is the first part of the URL which specifies what protocol to use and a resource name is the second part pf the URL which designates the IP address or the domain name where the resource can be found. The protocol identifier and the resource name are separated by a colon and two forward slashes. “Web Address” is an another word for URL that implements the HTTP or HTTPS protocol.
