How many sentence types are there in English grammar?
There are 4 kinds of sentences.
- Declarative sentences declare something – they make a statement. E.g. I enjoy reading.
- Imperative sentences give commands. E.g. Stand still.
- Interrogative sentences pose questions. E.g. How are you?
- Exclamatory sentences express emotion or excitement. E.g. That’s great!
The children were excited about visiting the factory.
