Mental Math: Basics of Math – App Review

Mental Math: Basics of Math – App Review

Children are increasingly growing accustomed to using calculators or are calculating sums using a pen and paper. However, the ability to calculate mentally is still very important for children and should be given its due importance. Calculating mentally also improves a child’s math skills, their math application skills and reduces their chances of making mistakes in calculations.

The features of Monster School’s app ‘Mental Math’ include the fact that children can improve their mental math abilities by using the app for just 10 minutes a day. This can be incorporated into their day to day activities and will benefit their overall math skills.

The app is great for a variety of age groups; ranging from 6 to 12 years of age. It covers the basic operations of math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) thoroughly. The answers are checked in real-time and children have the chance to locate their weaknesses and rectify them on the spot. They can also track their overall learning curve and understand where their gaps in their understanding lie.

The best part of the app is that no internet connection is needed to play. Children can access it on a pad or phone and ensure they get their practice every day.
