Jojo finds the Food Stealer

The children have come back from Physical Education class.

“Why would mom give me an empty lunch box?” wondered Nikhil out loud.

“Hey! My lunch is missing too!” shouted Rahul.

Jojo went back to his seat to check his lunch box and exclaimed, “Oh no!”

“What happened, Jojo? Is your lunch missing too?” asked Rahul.

“No. Unfortunately, it is still there,” said Jojo.

“How can you joke at a time like this?; said Nikhil

Jojo smiled and said, “Relax, Nikhil.

Karan, the class bully spoke, “ Perhaps you’re the thief Jojo, since you are telling Nikhil not to overreact.”

Jojo retorted ,“Perhaps it is you, Karan! You like doing things like these.”

Karan- Jojo, my tiffin is also empty. I wonder why your tiffin has not been stolen.”

“His mother is a terrible cook!”reasoned Nikhil.

“Thanks ,Nikhil!” said Jojo sarcastically.

Karan laughed and left the classroom saying ,“I am going to the canteen to eat!”

Nikhil, Rahul and Jojo were sitting in the school canteen and thinking of a plan to trap the lunch box thief. Jojo said, “We will put red chili powder in the tiffins to catch the thief.” said Jojo.

“That’s a good idea!” said Rahul.

How did you think of it?” asked Nikhil.

“Something that my father has experienced at the hands of my mother’s cooking,” said Jojo.

“But we’ll ruin everyone’s food. How will they agree to this?”; asked Rahul.

“This is the price we have to pay. So, let’s not tell anyone,” answered Jojo.

The next day, Jojo and his friends carried out their plan. They also emptied the water bottles so that the thief would run towards the water cooler.

Halfway through the Physical Education class, the children heard a boy screaming in their classroom.

When they rushed to see who it was, they saw Dholu make a dash towards the water cooler.

As Dholu drank water, Jojo stepped forward and asked, “So it was you? The food stealer?”

Dholu hung his head in shame and said, “I feel hungry so I steal your lunch boxes.”

Nikhil stepped forward and said,“We will all happily share our lunch with you if you promise never to steal.”

Dholu said, “I am so sorry. You all are being so nice to me that I‘m feeling more ashamed. I will never steal!”

Jojo said, “You can always eat my lunch.”

Dholu said reluctantly, “Umm.. I think I should start dieting.”

The children started to laugh.
